>go to popular local restaurant for lunch
>there's a cat sitting one of the tables
>walk by kitchen door and peek through window
>there's 2 cats sitting on top of a food prep table

Is this common in Europe?

I should make this a copypasta at some point.
Let me educate you, reddit. 99% of toxoplasmosis cases in humans are caused by unwashed vegetables or undercooked meat.
Owning a cat is not a strong predictor for toxoplasmosis.
The parasite is only shed in the the feces for the first two weeks of infection.
So, unless you eat feral kitten turds, like le doggorino pupperino before it gives you "kisses" on the mouth, you're fine.

Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that indoor cats never really have the parasite. Cats only really get it after hunting and eating something else that was infected.

This is why you should never adopt shelter cats and should only get them from breeders

Just don't eat your adopted cat's shit for a few weeks and you'll be fine

You're operating on the assumption that dog owners don't get the urge to eat protein rich carnivore turdlets like their sycophantic animals.
Easily made mistake.
