What is Americans' obsession with this shit? It's fucking gross.

That's just like, your opinion man

Although I agree the "dip everything in ranch xd" meme has overstayed its welcome
I like the flavor of ranch but it doesn't really belong anywhere but salads and doritos

It's a condiment/salad dressing. Asking why people are obsessed with it is like asking why people are obsessed with ketchup or mayo.

Sage for gay useless thread that adds nothing of value.

Ranch is good on chefs salads, crispy chicken salads, and as a vegetable dip. It’s much better with fresh buttermilk and a seasoning packet. However, Homemade blue cheese is the king of garden salad dressings, and great for dipping wings / vegetables as well.

American here. I never eat premade ranch dressing. I've never had it, but I'm told that homemade ranch dressing is the bee's knees. Maybe try making your own before passing judgement on it.

I think people are obsessed with it because it's rich, flavorful, and it goes with a lot of different foods because it's very neutral. It doesn't have any overpowering flavors or spices. It's just a creamy, slightly tangy sauce.
