Don't recommend getting Guinea pig if it would be your first pet, they make vert distinct noise if they are Hungry, Happy, Scared, Breathing, so always. As for feeding you just put hay and they will eat it as much as they need, don't just put bowl full of pellets they are considered a supplement not a main dish, also you can give them some veggies not too much.
