The worst part of post-sept 11th life is that many places hassle me now for bringing water in my backpack to them. I always carry around ice water when I go outside, like I don't leave home without it. Now airports, stadiums, many concert venues, won't let you bring your own water. I can bring empty water bottles in, but that precludes me from bringing ice. This is really just a way to get me to pay money for drinks. It serves no legitimate security function and makes my life as a very thirsty person much harder. I can't go to many concert venues, I avoid flights, and life is just unpleasant in general at any place with security because their main job is to hassle you. I was even frisked entering a concert last year.

5 dollars for a fairly small bottle of water when I could bring my own, with ice, for free. This is about money and that nobody can stop them. It should be a human right to bring your own water supply around with you wherever you go. Before sept 11th almost anywhere I could have. People used it as an excuse to make money and it hurts people like me who really need to drink water often. I've been hassled in concert halls for trying to refill my water bottle, bartenders don't want to give you water because you aren't paying them for that, etc

It just makes life harder.
