When I was younger we used to go to an Italian restaurant.

They served a pasta dish, I think it was spaghetti, with mussels in a tomatoey, garlicky sauce that I think was a little spicy too.

Is this a traditional Italian dish? If so what is it called?

Literally just google the oldest (American-)Italian restaurants near you, find the "Spaghetti alla mussels", and just copy that. It's usually just their generic red sauce, and they probably ad a little wine, minced garlic, pepper flakes, cook the mussels in that while the pasta is cooking, and then take out the mussels after they've released their liquor, finish the pasta in the sauce, plate it, and add the mussels back on top.

Maybe it was from a Spanish restaurant, mussels in green sauce with some nice bread so sop up the sauce.

Cheers boys, I'm not sure if that really is the same sauce or if I can even find it ever again, but I'll try those.

I used to think I should go into late night radio. The first few sexual experiences I had were with girls who both said something like, "listening to your voice makes me want to fall asleep".

Mussels in tomatoe sauce is pretty standard. Google it.

Service dogs are kind of weird. On the one hand they're trained to take care of you when something goes wrong, and on the other hand they're trained to love you, so get really concerned when something goes wrong. Dog's usually love to do what they've been trained for, but in this case it involves getting no positive reinforcement/treats, and their master seems to be having a bad time of in on top of that.

The real question is, will you put cheese on it?

It's one of those things americans do but Italians and other Europeans don't, and given the tense nationalistic nature of this board this comment is sure to get me some (You)s because of the shit flinging that will result

I'm American but I don't have a dog in this fight since I don't eat seafood.

I used to work at an Italian place and the owners told us not to give cheese to people who ordered linguini clams even if they ask for it lol. Like I said I don't care I just want to see people argue

Yes, take a subtly flavored crustacean and slather it in cheese. Completely ruin the lobster's flavor. Good job.

Rebecca DeMornay is not related.

I had the same dish at Tony De Napoli on the UES in Jew York growing up, if you cooking muscles make sure you cook them first just till they open up and then drop them in ice water. Make the sauce and shit separate, also my mom would make a super simple over cooked garlic bread to use to soak up the sauce.
