Those are Caribbean foods, which come from a mix of all the cultures present in the Caribbean, not just African. Jerk is from the Taino and the way meat is caramelized for stew comes from Indian cooking. Pikliz can't be African either because they didn't pickle things before colonialism (except in North Africa which is more Middle Eastern and not where the new world ancestors came from). Dishes that have more African influence are pelau and coo coo and those are really good.
