I’ve tasted other American ones and my country’s local ones and they all taste like cancer compared to tobasco. Have they patented something or what?

>tobasco
I see this a lot on here.
Is it a regional spelling?

It was always tobasco. The matrix fucked up back in 2001

Tobasco uses a particularl type of pepper that iriginated in Mexico, the Tobasco Pepper( Capsicum frutescens ), and all the peppers used used to be grown on Avery Island, although now seeds from Avery Island are shipped elsewhere to grow the Yobasco peppers, so the Avery Island peppers may be a somewhat distinct breed now.
The peppers are them ground into a mash and mixed with salt, the same day the peppers are picked, then the pepper salt mash is aged for up to three years in oak barrels, then the mash is strained, and mixed with vinegar, and aged some more.
Basically, Tobasco sauce is essentially made the same way decent Bourbon is made.
The aging helps the To asco sauce to get a “sweet” flavor in addition to the spicy flavour.

aged for years in a cask
you cannot replicate that with chemicals
it only has like 3 ingredients which is impressive

Here’s a ‘How It’s Made’ episode on the production of the sauce.

Basically, the fermentation changes the flavour of the sauce.

this
it's more spicy and has an overall better taste if you combine it with dips.
has anyone ever tried pic related?

>> No.13526149

The fermentation gives it an umami flavor. I can't think of another hot sauce with it.

It's really good. Probably the best tasting habanero sauce I've ever had.

>> No.13527505

you taste the barrels.
only other good sauce of that style is lousiana brand, good but you miss the aged flavour.
All the rest are just shit with additives and thickeners and stuff.

same fruitiness as the habanero. noticeably hotter but otherwise just like the habanero sauce in terms of flavor. very good but that weird fruitiness makes it harder to use, just like the habanero

It just tastes lile distilled white vinegar and capsaicin extract with salt. Only boomers eat it, and they were raised entirely on fake foods.
