Best thing I had out of an MRE was Mountain House granola with milk and blueberries. I still buy a big can of it now and then.

Used to live near a military base and would get these every now and then. Depends on the MRE. Some are not bad at all, while some are pretty horrible.

They're good for the first few days of emergencies and for energy while doing a lot of work outdoors without proper logistics for food, i.e FOBs and combat. It gets worse. The military refers to army and marines because they have infantry units. Other branches are the armed forces. But it's all armed forces. They're all used interchangeably though. There are smart and dumb people in all branches. I guess it goes marines, army, navy, air force as far as dumb to smart, and hardcore to light duty. There's always exceptions though. It's good to keep some rivalry to keep you motivated though.
