Yes. The US Government spends billions of dollars a year to subsidize corn farming. All the high-fructose corn syrup produced at a low cost with gubmint gibs undercuts cane/beet/grape/etc sugar, and is cheaper to use. Hence, they put it in everything, given the chance. Note that last clause. Popularized research on rats has showed that HFCS is linked to obesity in mammals, due to the way it causes resistance towards hormones that control hunger. This has caused pretty widespread disapproval and a backlash against it, especially for a food health scare.

So, companies who want to maintain their image and sell their products as well as possible, make a big deal out of "no high fructose corn syrup". It is more of a marketing gimmick than anything. Moderation is the key for everything. Overconsuming sugar is still considered unhealthy by health authorities, but I guess the lack of hormone fuckery causing you to overeat more is something (or not).

It literally isnt. Its a calorically dense additive that doesn't satiate and increases hunger, but its not, "directly responsible", as that would imply some direct mechanism of influencing weight metabolism. People just dont feel satisfied and eat more as a result. Even then shitty oils are basically the same thing and more likely in "literally everything" and far more calorically dense

>There’s no nutritional reason to drink it beyond childhood but it’s fine in moderate amounts.
What an illogical argument. Are you just parroting something you've read? Because that's not true.
If there were any logical "natural" argument to be made, it would be that once you can chew adequate amounts of solid food, you may no longer need to drink formula milk, but rather get nutrition from solid foods choices. Breast milk, of course, is going to be just fine beyond that, since it's giving some amazingness from the mother herself.
Your argument asserts Milk is somehow devoid of nutrition when you're not a child, well, it's not going to magically be changed when you hit some golden age. What it does for you in childhood continues to provide the exact same nutrition as an adult. Did you even know your brain isn't done developing until 25?
Milk contains almost single nutrient your body needs, as well as hydration. Go read what it contains.

>>13451285
>not a bad idea but people who put sugar in drinks should be beheaded
Why the anger about people liking things you don't like needing death? Geesh, your damage is severe. Why would you suggest some artificial sweetener, aspartame? It has a whole host of adverse affects, not the least of which is increasing cravings for sugar.

America runs on Corn Syrup. It should be their national food.

If you eat like a normal american you will be drenched in corn syrup, and I'm not talking about obese scooter riders going to mcdonalds every day. I mean if you consume regular products, ketchup, some snacks, microwave dinner, stuff from freezer etc. You will be drenched in corn syrup.
You really need to take particular attention on what you buy. Everything is contaminated here.

I blame farmer lobbying more than anything else, fucking farmers. Conservative free market freedum lovers until free market touches their subsidies
