starting my cleanse today bros.

first off no alcohol. that's the biggest hurdle for an alcoholic of nearly 7 years.
next is no bread, no dairy, nothing with added sugar, no legumes.

any recipe ideas? probably mostly going to be eating meats, fruits, and veggies.

Do some research, I started to fall apart after 3 months, was eating 5 times a day, everything as healthy as possible, had trouble walking and lost my sense of balance.Be carefull.

I drink lots of vodka. That cleans out my system, and even cleans my teeth (I haven’t brushed in years, and haven’t had a cavity since).

I also eat a liverwurst sandwich pretty much every day – to counterbalance the effects the vodka has on my liver. I make my sandwiches on seeded rye (because it’s the healthiest bread), with mayo (because eggs are the best protein; I use kewpie, because the msg makes it taste better), coarse mustard (good for the white blood cells), zucchini pickles (because they taste good), and a bunch of baby spinach (just for filler; it could honestly be left out).

I also eat a lot of canned fish (mostly sardines, but also the occasional fancy smoked oysters) on saltines. They give you all your essential amino acids, and provide a nice opportunity to try out various hot sauces, which are generally very low in calories, while high in flavor and immensely prodigious to healthiness.

Aside from that, I drink large amounts of water (anywhere between ice-cold to slightly chilled) every day, always through a straw, and sometimes with a lemon wedge.

To each their own, I say, but I’m just shy of 30 and am doing better than most of you.

Gud luck anon, even if you fall back some, you don['t have to fall back on everything. Don't just give up all of your gains you make not trying to sabotage you beforehand.

if you are truly an alcoholic of 7 years, I hope you tapered down before outright quitting. I support your decision to stop drinking, but alcohol is one of the few drugs that can actually literally kill you with withdraws. Look up the delirium tremens bro aka DTs

DTs are overplayed. It depends on what kind of alcoholic you are. If you're the true final form kind of alcoholic that's downing a bottle or two of vodka just to stave off the shakes, that's one thing.

I drink 10 Miller Lites on a workday, and when off, down probably 6-7 shots of Jager and a bottle of champagne, along with some more beer. I'm an alcoholic, but I can stop on a dime because my body isn't used to dramatic amounts of alcohol.

I drink a fifth a day about, sometimes a little more (for about 6 years now) I stopped for like 2 weeks straight once and never got DTs. Not every alcoholic gets DTs. It only affects a small minority and really doesn't have anything to do with the severity of ones alcoholism. I can choose to not drink without any serious withdrawals, it's just no fun to not drink.

Nice trips, but it's not that easy. I struggle with anxiety, and booze saves me. It's also part of what I do for a living, and my social life. Telling those around me that I'm an alcoholic and don't drink anymore is functionally the end of my career.

(I work in advertising for the biggest casino company in the world in Las Vegas, FYI, and it is frequently a required part of my job to go out and negotiate shit with vendors and build personal relationships. I can get by with "not drinking to get in shape" for a couple of months, but not with "I don't drink." I also love drinking, so it'd be a lie.)

Maybe just drink a little bit a day for a month, and then less, and less until you completely phase it out, because your body might actually need the alcohol at this point.

OP here
day 1 was a success. woke up today feeling hungry and rested, not too typical.

the legumes/dairy part is to reduce inflammation. i don't know the exact science, the diet is called whole30 i think.

anyways here's some breakfast i made. crispy homefries w/ soft scrambled egg and some apple slices. god damnit i want peanut butter and ketchup though.
