Got a crepe maker for Christmas and finally had my first crepe. They're pretty good, I put strawberry jam in this one. What do y'all put in yours?

You don't really need a crepe maker unless you're making them all the time.

What kind of poverty situation are you coming from? People should own whatever they want. I bet you would have rudely refused the gift and offered your unfiltered opinion to the giver about how to spend their money when buying for you. You seem like the type, since you give unsolicited advice and projection.

OP, in my town, there's an extremely popular local chain and caterer that I've eaten from many times. My favorite crepes tend to be the savory crepes with minimal filling. Don't get too fussy, keep it simple, in other words, kind of like a taco, 3 ingredients and call it done.
Also, a folded crepe with a bit of sweetened ricotta, fresh fruit, kind of blini style, flambeed with anything from calvados, gran marnier, heering cherry, butter-rum-spices, whisky hard sauce, etc.

Here's the "Crepe Maker" menu for inspiration:

Did they give you a receipt? If so, just get something else, otherwise just re-gift it to someone else that is retarded.
Having a "crepe maker" is like having a "muffin maker"
