Knoxville here. Downtown Grill and Brewery on Gay Street is a must. Market Square is a block away from there and has several good restaurants too, including a Michelin starred place if you give a shit about that (Oliver Royale). Barley's in the Old City has amazing pizza and beer, but only go in the daytime because the Old City gets pretty rapey at night. There's plenty of other good shit in West Knox but downtown is probably your best bet for bars and restaurants.

OP, your plan is a little scattered. Dumb collection of cities and places, to be honest. Pick a quadrant, like "the South" and start like Texas, drive through Louisiana on I-10 into NOLA, into the Gulf shores and panhandle, then down through Florida and then up again through GA, and through the Carolinas, maybe even stopping mid-Atlantic.
OR
Start somewhere like Miami, and do US1/A1A, from Florida up to Washington, D.C., and maybe into the Northeast/New England pursuits (or the reverse direction, depending on the season), and maybe on from there into the Maritimes and a little Ontario fun. The definitive guide might be to peruse road trip articles for regional shopping, drinking, dining, and sights, for instance, in the archives of Southern Living magazine. Regional guides, from Eater top tens, to juts Trip Advisor lists for "local food"...

It's gotta be a foreigner writing this, it's always the misinformed idea that America is so tiny you'd actually want to spend your time between flyable cities by driving on interstates instead. Scenic car drives exist, but it's not while driving between ALL of these cities, it's a mess. Depending where you are from, you might find that in the South, all the transplants from those other regions snowbird it in the South and their favorite foods are found all over.

Parks, like National Parks? Or are you roughing it and sleeping in your car?

I noticed that Pittsburgh is not on your list. That is fine as really nothing here is worth going out of your way. Primanti''s sandwiches are the only unique thing, - theyre basically a big fries and sauerkraut sandwich with a bit of meat, but the bread is fresh baked bakery bread and it's only $6 for the bologna/$8 for bigger meats like kielbasa or steak or w/e. It's a chain so probably some locations are better than others, I've had a lot of variance in size and quality even at the same location desu. Probably the best time to go is weekend nights when they're busy so everything is fresh made.

More of a quite good quite cheap sandwich than an interesting cuisine, althought I will say a fully 1/3rd sauerkraut sandwich is a little unusual.

I'd recommend Burger Tex II but I was told they closed recently. Arpeggio Grill on Airport is pretty good, they're the only ones I get pizza from anymore. Catfish Parlour is very solid if you're into fried seafood, same with the Springhill Catfish Restaurant, IMO they make particularly good fried mushrooms. Of course there's obvious stuff like Franklin's but you'd better be at their door at least an hour before opening. Ken's Tacos on Cameron has solid breakfast tacos and their large cheesesteak sandwich is actually 2 sandwiches for only $10. Also on Cameron is TJ's Seafood, they do a nice chicken & sausage fried rice, also crawfish. Ka-Prow on Howard Ln. has good Thai food if you happen to be in the mood for that while here.

While you're in central TX make sure to get to Lockhart and go by Kreuz market. IMO Kreuz stands up to absolutely anywhere else's BBQ but they don't get lines around the building like everywhere in downtown Austin does. Come to think of it, Stiles Switch it still relatively unknown but really good, it's on N. Lamar right around where Airport and Lamar meet. The first time I went there the daily special was prime rib and I got a free chunk because a friend told them it was my first time. SLAB is also great, especially if you can catch them on half price rib night.

For Las Vegas maybe (off the top of my head):
>Binions cafe for a steak
>Longhorn casino for a cheap breakfast
>Whitecross pharmacy cafe (decent diner in a pharmacy)
>Chinatown for Pho (Pho Kim Long smells weird on certain days but their beef Pho is pretty good, lots of sides, and cheap)
>Chinatown in general
>Ichiza (chinatown-ish) Jap bar always pretty good dishes (not a sushi joint)
>Double Down (no food, just a bar, but good for live bands, straight punk bar in gay area, so don't wonder in the neighborhood)
>Pupusas (stop at any of these, and eat a pupusas)

I can’t think of any indigenous food in Cincinnati. I also wouldn’t want to eat spaghetti, topped with chili, topped with mounds of cheese, and then hit the road the next day. I would especially not feed such a meal to your dog. There is a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Cincy, I would go there, get a ribeye medium rare. Actually, everywhere you stop until you hit New Orleans, I’d just get a steak or a slab of prime rib at Ruth’s Chris. I always ask that the steak be cooked with twice the amount of butter.

New Orleans, there used to be a great little fried oyster place called "The Galley" in Metairie. I don't know if it's still around.

Nashville, there's an AYCE catfish place called "Cock of the Walk".

Vegas, the buffets at Mirage and Bellagio used to be awesome. Haven't been in years, don't know if they're still as good after the MGM takeover.

Fogo de Chao is worth it for lunch, not so much for dinner. Don't take your dog inside or you'll get it back skewered, marinated, and broiled.

There's also a fantastic place for cinnamon rolls and breakfasts called Ann Sather's. Looks like they are a chain now with three locations in the business district.

Also, serious question, OP, are you retarded?

You're going to have to deal with snow, ice, and subzero temperatures. If your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you and your dog will freeze to death. If a big storm comes along, you can be trapped in a motel for days, assuming you can even get a room.

I remember being young and dumb and going through Reno in November, but only because I was moving cross-country for a job. I nearly didn't make it because a blizzard closed the passes from NV to CA just before I got there. Luckily, Reno wasn't packed, I got a hotel for a couple of days, and the storm wasn't huge.

I've also nearly run out of gas in Wyoming because the stupid fucktards closed their gas station for the winter and didn't bother to put up a sign, and I got stuck and had to shovel out my car.

Anyway, good luck. For a vacation, I would never try road-tripping through the north in January. There's a reason downtown Minneapolis has habitrails running from building to building, and it's not because of the sunny tropical climate.

>unfortunately i'm allrgic to most seafood
That is unfortunate. However, there is still many non-seafood related food you can try from New Orleans.
https://www.neworleans.com/restaurants/traditional-new-orleans-foods/

>Gumbo - besides seafood gumbo, there is chicken & sausage gumbo
>Jambalaya - the word "jambalaya" is literally derived from African words for ham (jambon) and rice (aya). There are types of jambalaya that do not have seafood in them.
>Red Beans & Rice does not have seafood - although there are some New Orleans restaurants that sometimes serve seafood, such as fried catfish, with their Red Beans & Rice dishes.
>Muffalettas have no seafood, and there are many different types of Po-Boy sandwiches, although the most popular ones feature fried seafood.
>Pralines, king cakes, snoballs, bananas Foster, and beignets all have no seafood in them.

Check this website out also:
https://nomenu.com/

It's the website of the most famous New Orleans food critic, Tom Fitzmorris.
It rates many of the most well-known and/or popular New Orleans restaurants, including list by location, so you can look up French Quarter restaurants, if that is the area of New Orleans you are going to visit.

Here's what I mean, OP:

https://www.breitbart.com/news/police-63-vehicle-pileup-in-virginia-results-in-injuries/

A little ice, and suddenly you're playing bumper cars.

I was surprised it wasn't I-81. I was trying to get back to NoVa after Christmas one year, and that whole road suddenly turned into a frictionless inclined plane (but not in a vacuum, so I wasn't in a physics thought experiment) due to a sleet-turning-into-ice storm.

I was lucky, I turned around before things got too retarded and went back to my grandparents' house. The news the next day said the staties had had to haul out over a hundred vehicles.

I prefer the more neutral "dog lovers" since I have sex with both male and female dogs.

Right now I only have a male, and he's great for providing some ethical animal protein in my otherwise vegan diet.

The only year-round indigenous food in West Michigan are Olive Burgers and Wet Burritos. We do our Burritos a bit differently, worth trying.
You'll have to go to a mid-low-level Diner or Greasy Spoon to get either. Several places in Kalamazoo and BC will have them, should be easy to find.
Everything else you can get everywhere else up here.

Cincinnati here. Anyone that shits on Cincinnati is a Kentucky inbred or a depressed Cleveland native who thinks his 10% Polish heritage makes him cultural.

When in Cincinnati, of course try Skyline Chili. Go to Tuckers Cafe on Vine St. and get goetta for breakfast with a side of eggs and biscuits. Go to Clifton for any type of food you want. Food is dirt cheap here, $5 for a full meal anywhere usually. You gotta be good at finding holes in the wall though, the good food here is usually in places where you will be robbed or shot if you act like a stupid motherfucker
