Do you own a toaster oven? If so, how infrequently do you use it?

>> No.13382640

I use mine almost daily. It preheats very quickly, and I tuned the bimetallic switch so that the temps are accurate.

Great for baking, too.

>> No.13382653

Daily, when I’m only cooking for 2 it’s much faster than preheating my main oven.its worth buying s good one

I got mine when I first moved out because I hate microwaves and I have very little counter space. I use it very infrequently, mostly just to reheat leftovers. I don't really eat much bread. I could probably get rid of it and have more room in the kitchen, using the oven and range to reheat food.

This. It's better for reheating food and easier than heating up the entire oven for one meal. Toaster ovens are GOAT

Not every single day, but frequently enough that I'm thinking of getting a nicer one some day.

I cook bread and make whole chickens in mine all the time. This is a 1500 watt 6 bread toaster oven. I murder bread in it like crazy. 4 loaves per cook. It's amazing.

>> No.13384421

i use it for everything because my real oven is broken. it's annoying because of the size and i can't cook on different shelves.

Unfortunately they suck as toasters. The cheapest POS china-slice toaster > Toaster Oven.
>>13384410
>1500 watt
When I get my house I WILL have a self-designed 220v, 40 amp toaster oven/broiler in my kitchen.
1500 watts is fine for what you are doing, good job sounds like you're ingenious.
Unfortunately you are limited by 1500 watts no matter what you say. Maybe you're aware of it.

> Do you own a toaster oven?

Yes.

> If so, how infrequently do you use it?

All the time. I’m only cooking for me so it’s waste of time and energy to use a big ass oven when a toaster oven does the same thing.

I got pic related for free and use it just about every day even if it does suck as a toaster. I also had a $19 walmart one before this and it was just as good.

I have the Breville thing. Use it at least once a day. It's a great machine.

>> No.13385201

I use mine primarily for two things:
1) Making toast
2) It has a section for warming. If I'm using my stoneware plates and I'm using the oven, I'll put them in the toaster oven on warm to heat them up so that they cool the food off so fast. If the oven is free, I just set it on the lowest setting and put the plates in it instead.

Agreed, toaster ovens are great for heating small snacks, but absolutely terrible for toast. Always ends up firm on the outside and brittle on the inside, instead of toasted and softer innards.

>>13382634
I have a toaster oven and not a regular one because I pretty much do live like Lenny. I use the oven a lot.
Hated it at first but once you get to know the thing it works pretty well. You have to keep an eye on it a lot more than you'd need to with a proper oven, though. Thankfully, that's easy when your flat is so small the oven is on a table in the livingroom.
