I remember red baron used to make a Mexican style pizza. Had taco sauce and chips on it and shit. God damn I could plow through two of them when I was a teenager.

what is the difference between a stromboli and a calzone?

>> No.13342507

>>13342498
shape
calzone is a half-moon shape, stromboli are usually cylindrical because they get rolled up

French bread is great for homemade, because it's easy to acquire french bread and it can be done immediately rather than the long prepwork of regular dough.

does shape even affect taste? they're pretty much the same thing

>> No.13342607

>>13342572
yes, calzone has more crust and stromboli has more dough on the inside

>> No.13342609

>>13342572
usually calzones have more sauce inside, stromboli are a bit more doughy. but otherwise, the difference is negligible

Does shape affect taste? I bet you cut your sandwiches straight and not diagonally.

detroit style deep dish was once my preferred style. thick rectangular pie with crispy bottom and edges. i've worked at a pizza joint for a few years that specializes in that style so it has gotten old for me. greek is closer to my preferred style nowadays: thin crust, light sauce, light mozz, spinach, feta and diced tomato. maybe some bacon and green olives. it's best at room temp imo.
