My sister, a physician, knew better, and did eat some dough anyway and did in fact get poisoned. And, there are product recalls on the news, all the time, for the cookie dough in a tube.
My grocery does carry pasteurized eggs, which I sometimes buy so I can make raw egg caesar salad dressing and not freak out guests, egg cocktails that are nice and frothy such as an old daiquiri recipes or sours from places like Peru where the pisco sour is so rampant, and sometimes for eggnog.
For cookie dough though, ehh, they sell imitations of cookie dough in tubs now that are intended for the freaks who like it by the spoonful. For that kind of mood, I'll stick to the Biscoff cookie spread, which is delicious on some toast.

You're more likely to get sick from the raw flour than the eggs. Flour isn't pasteurized or anything so whatever got on it in the field is still there. Raw flour tastes shitty though, just bake your fucking cookies.

no one said anything about eggs until you brought it up

It's a common misconception. Also the op mentioned salmonella mongoloid. You get that from eggs/animals, not flour.

Stop it

Salmonella is generally associated with chickens. Most people don't realize flour can cause food poisoning either.

The CDC fact sheet for salmonella doesn't list flour as a cause or vector for that particular food born illness. Not sure where you are getting your info but you are wrong

Is that true of bleached flour as well? What other reason would they bleach it than to kill any bacteria since it's literally no whiter than unbleached white flour.

The reason flower is unsafe to eat isn't because salmonella, its because it can start growing in your belly, causing your innards to rupture.
