However, I'm starting to think the good ones can be traced back to buggering monks (Germoney has lots of very good plant-based recipes that date from their monasteries iirc). For example, the Verveine du Puy is a nice liquor, but Chartreuse is another level of quality, for only a few € more. One is made by a standard industry, the other by monks.

BUT! Please, for the love of god take care of yourself. Living like this is not a long term solution and even if it works well for you now, consider the long term. If you contract any illness such as pneumonia (which seems incredibly likely) or injure yourself you're out there by yourself with no one to help you. It also won't work well as you get older.
