I will be making it on Friday and watching a movie. This meal, more than any other American meal, is what europoors fail to understand. But it's simple and absolutely delicious.

ive never had it and ive legitimately never seen it be served anywhere but i am very curious about it
i have only ever seen brown coloured gravy made from meat drippings and stuff, what does the white gravy taste like? i heard it is made with sausage, it sounds great but looks odd to me. but how is it so white?
also how should i go about making this? i really want to try biscuits and gravy

>> No.13182501

>>13182488
Cook breakfast sausage.
Drain the fat from the sausage.
Put the fat back in the frying pan.
Add flour to the fat to make a roux.
Add milk to make a bechamel, bring to simmer.
Add sausage back in and cook until the raw flour taste is out of the gravy.
Add salt and pepper as needed.

That's it.

They are and forever will be scones, not biscuits. If you ask for a biscuit in the UK you will get something that snaps and if you ask for a cookie you will get something that either snaps or is softer and more chewy.

Because I'm not in the mood for bread that's 50% fat topped with gravy made from more flour, fat and fatty meat. Don't get me wrong, I make it, including homemade biscuits (which is why I know they're loaded with fat) every few months as a decadent treat but always feel like shit after eating it and have to skip lunch and have a very light dinner.

It looks putrid, but somehow the textures and flavors really work to satisfy you. It's mostly fat and carbs so asians would find it offensive, but you can't tell me most other cultures wouldn't like it.

Fun fact: When I first brought my Korean waifu to the US I wanted to give her a hearty amerilard breakfast, took her to a diner and ordered biscuits and gravy with fried eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. She took a bite of the biscuits and gravy and spit it out. She was literally appalled, lol!

People who've never tried it, do yourselves a favor and don't ever order it at a restaurant. Biscuits and gravy is one of those dishes that nobody ever gets right at a restaurant, if you really want to try it just make it at home it's braindead easy.

Restaurant versions are always skimpy as fuck on the actual sausage and the gravy is usually bland and the consistency is always off. It's like bring served Elmer's glue with some meat bits in it. I've only managed to find one restaurant that makes it decently and even that was just okay not great.
