I didn’t drink alcohol until I was 25.

I basically dislike all alcohol but do enjoy it in mixed drinks. White wine? Nah man that shits pretty good. A little bellini with breakfast is delicious. Smashed cucumber gin and soda and mint is also delicious same with margaritas. I dislike rum whiskey and beer ( I can tolerate flights and appreciate it but can’t finisn a drink). Some tequila shots are delicious.

You do have to find what you like
Hell my gf had a smashed blackberry cosmo and that was absolutely delicious, could have drank the whole thing!

From a teetotaler turned to a person who drinks maybe 5-8 times a year, it’s good stuff you just have to find what you like.

Nah man mimosas are delicious. A glass of white wine can’t be replicated. Also have you ever had pear cider or pineapple cider? The alcoholic stuff.

Their low abv and absolutely delicious and what got me into alcohol. Their like a soda but if it was naturally sweet, lightly effervescent and a delicious dry finish. Perfect in a summer day with some seafood. Seriously if u don’t like alcohol try ciders and no they don’t taste like juice! I get where your coming from because a lot of drinks I taste I feel the same way, but not all of them! Tequila and gin. has a taste that is delicious and wouldn’t want it any other way. I’ve never been drunk before and the most drinks I ever had was 2.

I've only ever heard of non-alcoholic beer and swapping out champagne for sparkling cider. I guess you could enjoy virgin mixed drinks, but that means no alcohol taste at all. I don't mind non-alcoholic or low (like 2%) beer but accidentally bought alcohol free Heineken a few weeks ago (didn't look closely, just grabbed it) and wouldn't recommend that brand. I've probably only every tried Heineken a few times in over a decade, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Not good at all, but I'm not sure if it tastes like their regular beer.

Bitters like angostura bitters are 40% alcohol but very concentrated in flavor, so you only use a few splashes of them in a drink. The alcohol content is fairly meaningless in terms of flavor once mixed into the drink, but preserves the spice mixture and delivers it in liquid form to readily blend into your drink. Non-alcoholic bitters would probably just be more perishable, but with refrigeration and modern preservatives they could last a while. One thing is though, since you only use a few shakes/dashes/drops, only the most severe alcoholics who should not even be buying things that remind them of drinking would benefit from these. The alcohol is so negligible in your beverage, salad dressing, soup, etc. (they can be used in cooking) that it's pointless to go out of your way to buy alcohol free ones.

Thought about it right after I submitted that reply, and I think the translation of bitters may be referring to a type of herbal digestive liqueur that is common in Europe. All Americans know of Jagermeister and many probably have had jager bombs at some point, but other than that those herbal liqueurs are not very common here.

i always loved coffee taste and hated coffee. discovered real coffee at maybe 22 and realized it's just that people don't care for actually making a good cup.

i started drinking whisky because it was the cool high percentag alc with 19, soon fell in love after discovering to good ones, always have half a dozen ones, mostly single malt, at home. seeing people with jack daniels shirts give me the creeps, same principle as with coffee, taste like absolute shit, but people like it for the cultural/social reasons.

i'm a huge sucker for tea; a fine cup of oolong is basically heaven for me, i'm also quite picky on how to brew each sort and loose myself in experimenting until i'm really happy

i always found beer underwhelming until i had an extremely interesting beer night where a friends friends showed me various beers at various bars after finding out that i was able to detect certain aromas during a for fun beer tasting. since then i greatly enjoy the occasional meme ipa (surprisingly coincides with my whisky and tea taste for lighter, fruiter and more floral varieties, except for coffee where i absolutely hate acidity and prefer the more nutty, chocolaty, earthy sorts to the fruity ones) and others.

now with wine: i had one red whine in my entire life that was so good that it hurt after the bottle was gone. it was absolutely amazing, complex fruity, with feelable substance, just godlike. every other red whine i ever had was just ok or (in like 80%) just disgusting. i guess i may come to a point where i start to go deeper into wine but i hate the kind of leathery, rubbery, bitterniss that red whine provides (love bitter chocolate, coffee and tea though) and the acidity is unpalatable for me (same with most ethiopian coffees, its like fucking vinegar sometimes). i honestly find red wine to be the most challenging in the bunch and also the one with the least variety between sorts, thats why it still hasnt fully clicked on me
