Where my meta muggers at?

50:50 Birch Beer and Sasparilla is pretty good. Easy on the tap and angle the mug to reduce foaming and getting a mug half full with foam.

I was addicted to Cream Soda at Dragon Con. I fuckin miss them but I guess that's what makes them extra special so when I see them at another con

I don't know if it was genius or absolutely retarded for them to have set up in the vendor room last DragonCon.

>> No.13060675

2019? or 18? Cause 19 was ok but I loved the vendor hall. I spent so much money my bank put me on hold till they clarified me over the phone LOL

2019. The lines were abysmal and pretty much showed that they were at capacity in regards to actually dealing with the crowds with the current vendor setup. As for setting up in the vendor room, I don't know if it was retarded for them to setup in a place where customers could see upwards of an hour+ wait just to get into the building and all of them are more interested in buying other things than soda (of which cheaper alternatives exist within the same venue), or genius because they were charging 20+ dollars for cheap metal mug and a couple cents worth of soda to customers that on a majority would never get a refill. Their revenue margins were probably insane on a per sale level.

I always got there at a fantastic time. I think they should have allowed to do it 24/h and the vendors could chose their own times. I got to see my pals at Pawstar, (don't judge me) again. I missed them. I can't wait to see them and Wild Bills again next con. Likely Momocon.

The drinks were free AFAIK as long as you had a mug by them. Hell, the guys even recognized me which was awesome.

They are awesome anon. Sorta one of those drinks you have to appreciate for the fact that it's not in that many places. They don't have a normal store front

>> No.13060754

>>13060709
I don't think they can actually have the building open 24/7, and the vendors wouldn't be down with long stretches of time where they're not present with their merchandise. I think they really need to extend vendor room hours to 9am-9pm, do a soft open on Thursday, and maybe even split the vendors into two buildings to keep lines more manageable.

>> No.13060782

>>13060711
Given that price, I'd suggest you check out their website since they list what events they're going to be present at for the rest of the year. That way you don't have to take a crapshoot ordering blind. Also they don't seem to have the sarsaparilla or birch beer available online and you'd be missing out.

I can dig the 2nd. It's really fuckin annoying that they close at 6. I get that they want to close up and go roam around the con too but come on. Some of us don't get out cause we gots the hang overs and shit. Although, I'm proud of myself cause I didn't get Conflu

>> No.13060862

>>13060795
I get that they want to enjoy the con, but at the end of the day they're there on business and it's not like you can do much after the 7pm close anyways. Splitting the vendors is more to address the increasing logistical issues with the lines (along with opening up more vendor space); this year the vendor lines on Saturday were so backed up that it was interfering with access to the gaming building and they had to snake the line down the street.

I've never gotten the Con flu, and I honestly don't know anyone who has either. I'm beginning to think that most cases of "con crud" are simply irritated stomach linings from binge drinking.

NOOOOOOOOOOO dude I got Con flu my first year of going in 2014 and holy shit. I lost my voice, I had a fever, my arms and legs ached, I wanted to fucking die man. I learned after that, I went to AWA, Momocon and then now this current Dragon con, also Japan fest but it was meh, a few simple things:
1. wash your fucking hands like once an hour.
2. DO NOT touch anything without wiping your hands off at some point.
3. WATER IS YOUR FRIEND
4. Take Tylenol at least once a day
5. Stretch at least once a day, preferable before you leave for the con
6. Don't Shake hands, fist bump!
7. Handle as little cash as possible
8. TAKE MINIMUM OF 1 SHOWER A DAY GOD DAMN IT!
9. Deodorant FFS. If you smell and you know you smell.

I say that because I don't wear any but I take really good showers and I am not an active person so I don't sweat that badly but if I do people will tell me and I'll clean myself up.

I think that Wild Bills should have been located on like the first floor where they had a lot more space. A few of those boths were tiny tiny.

>> No.13060910

>>13060870
Honestly I just wash my hands for the regular reasons and I've been fine. Also you should go ahead and put on the deodorant, there is no reason not to since yes, you're going to smell after a few hours in the summer heat.

Wild Bills could have been outside the actual vendor room in the entrance way. Either that or DC should find a place where they can drop multiple food trucks and have an outdoor eating area so people aren't stuck with heading to the mall for close and quick food.

I have a feeling they would if ATL didn't still have a homeless problem. I didn't even know there was a game room ;_; I'm sad.

>> No.13060956

>>13060924
They usually have a couple of food trucks parked outside the Sheraton, and it wouldn't be difficult to rope off some space for food trucks that is specifically part of the con. Realistically it'd also only be open during the day.

How did you not know about the gaming at DragonCon? It's held in AmericasMart 1 with some spillover into the Westin.

>> No.13060967

I dunno ;_; I am so upset at myself for not knowing.

also did you see the 40 fuckwits that got stuck in the marriot's elevator?

>> No.13060974

>>13060967
No, was it them overloading the elevator or were they doing shit that fucked up its operation? Although the one time I stayed at the Marriott a few years ago something like half the elevators weren't working at all.

>> No.13060980

>>13060974
I and about over a hundred of us watched them for over an hour and 1/2. 30 or 40 of them (If I counted right) overloaded the capacity which was like 2500LBS IIRC. It full-on stopped and the fire depo had to rescue their asses. 1 thicc chicc got so hot in there she started to strip down to her underwear.

>> No.13061017

>>13060980
I'm kinda surprised the elevator even moved in the first place, or that they managed to fit everyone in there.
