In August, I tried an Impossible burger. Tasted like a bad beef burger. Poor texture. 5/10
Yesterday, I had a Lightlife burger. Someone on here told me not to both and that it's shit. They were wrong. It tastes like your average from-frozen beef burger, which really did surprise the fuck out of me. The texture, while not quite spot-on, was convincingly beefy. It even smelled like a real burger while I was cooking it. 7/10

Basically, were I not aware that it wasn't beef, I'd have been fooled by LL but not by BB. IB maybe. I might think someone poorly seasoned and overcooked a regular beef burger if I ate another IB.

Anyway, the reason to continue eating beef burgers instead of switching wholesale to Lightlife is a matter of pricing. I can make a 4oz beef burger for 45c while Lightlife costs $2. That's over 4× the price of real, 1 ingredient meat. Both Beyond and Impossible are more expensive than LL so until they drop in price to match it, they're not even in the conversation for me, never mind the fact that neither is terribly good.

I'll stick with beef, thank you. For now, anyway.
