This is the most common version of donut here in Poland. Its fucking great.

In the US we call them Jelly Donuts, and they are very popular and good as a rare indulgence, raspberry filling is best

Polish around here call them "Punchkies" and they have a holiday for it called Fat Teusday

i don't like overtly sweet stuff, but i like marmalade and these types of things, not sure why the fruit flavor part for some reason compensates the too sweet part and it works for me

I ate a Krapfen straight from the bakery one day and the fucking retard chicks at the counter had apparently tried to warm it up in the fucking microwave. The dough was barely warm but when I reached the filling I had boiling hot jelly squirting into my mouth. I should have gone back and raised a real stink. I burned my mouth pretty badly.

How are they anysweeter than American donuts? Not sure what kind you tried, but here in Austria the yeast dough is barely sweetened at all. It's just the powdered sugar and jam inside that's really sweet. You can also get them unsugared here.
