Dogs are mostly carnivores, so there's been little to no point to domecticate them to eat their flesh. Carnivores are also adapated more towards killing other animals, making them generally more of a potential threat. While today it could be reasoned into hunting and eating carnivores we never did make that switch, so we're just sticking to the old habits of not eating them.

We even bred all these for maximum efficiency in producing what we needed from them. Dogs, being predator carnivores, have very high iron content, are gamy and greasy, take a long time to grow to a large weight. They don't taste as good, are more labor intensive in the growing and butchering, and yield less for more cost. There are requirements to how big/small their pens are. They must be a certain size to be within the rules, and the sizes for new farms are expanding because the breeds are becoming more active and require more space.
They're not crammed together with no ability to turn around like those factory farms, that's not allowed here. If you cram too many pigs in a space too small they start biting each other's tails and we need to treat them with medicine and in the worse case can't even sell them, so it helps no one. Then later we have used their instincts to control and protect sheep and cattle.. early form of advanced animal husbandry.
