I have an idea, why don't we post local coffee roasters from our city or state(or whatever people across the pond say). Bonus points if you have tasted any of them first hand. The only requirement is that they roast the beans themselves; not bought pre roasted.

I haven't tried any of these yet, but this is what I have found.

Why would you have a self-serve refill station if refills cost money? It just adds additional transactions to a situation that is supposed to be simplified by the self-serve.

The espresso coffee vending machines suck anymore, they give literal sink shots. I need to start taking coffee to work with me. I need a tumbler/thermos suggestions and I need suggestions to what to put in it, I have it in mind to start taking "coffee, instant" with me because I have access to hot water at work, but it would be better to take it from home already done. is pic related really any different than any other tumbler?

No, the only decent thing they do is coolers. $30+ for a fucking tumbler(that doesn't even screw on) is stupid. Literally any $12 vacuumed double wall thermos/tumbler like Buba brand will do.

The benefit of bringing coffee verses instant is more variety, and more brew methods, at the cost of morning prep. Instant has less decent options and less diverse for less prep time.

my main concern really are poly/bpa/teflon films on the tumblers and thermos I see around there, all that stuff is pretty much made in China with who knows what materials. Idk man, I just feel like what you think is 'bitter' is something entirely different to me. Like, bitter isn't a flavor, it's a feel. Black coffee tastes like pure, concentrated caffeine to me - like 100 sodas condensed into a single cup minus the sugar plus the dirt and it blows my mind that people can actually enjoy it.
I smoked cigs for two and a half years straight out of highschool, and liked it. I wish I had a 'coffee addiction' like some people brag about having, just so I can overcome it but I can't even get into it because I can't stand coffee without milk, flavoring, sugar, or creamer.

What the fuck is going on in your heads? I'm trying to be open man I am lol but I can't because I have no fucking clue where to start with coffee - I've watched the Golden Rule barista coffee TED talks and that magic turkish coffee thing makes my mouth water - but I just don't know where to fucking start.

Barely. It exposes grounds to hot water. The "press" does nothing. Like I said, you're better off dumping loose grounds into a mug, covering with water, straining, then squeezing the spent grounds through a napkin. That little squeeze will give you a higher % tds.

At best, you're pulling 8 psi. You can pinch harder than that.

I am in orlando a lot actually. Lineage is probably the best in town but if you dislike light roast fruity coffees you'll have a hard time finding something you enjoy. Trilogy owners are really nice but I haven't liked any of their coffee. Axum is pretty good and their roastery is in a neat little food hall/brewery. Foxtail is by far the most succesful "specialty" shop but is trash and everything else on this list is also trash.

I'll keep that in mind. Also yeah, Foxtail seems like hipster Starbucks.

You know what I don't want to do? Squeeze hot coffee grounds through a napkin.

Did the thought that the aeropress is simply convenient ever cross your mind?

Yeah, its a mediocre unitasker for whites. Its kind of like those junk egg sandwich makers you buy for college kids that never get used. But you're dumb enough to use it, over literally anything else.
