You fry thigs in it, esp. pork or duck fat, for an extra depth of flavor. I wouldn't save beef fat, as it tends to taste watery. I use old soda cans with the tops cut away. Tip : don't mix grease, as it confuses the flavor.

grease will stick to bits of hair, food, sand, dust, etc. that's already in your pipes, and in short order this can clog your entire system. If you are not saving the fat, pour it into something and freeze it, then throw it away when you dispose of the rubbish. Google 'london fat-burg' for a real world horror show of grease and "flushable" moist towel wipes.
