How long does cutting a chunk off your finger take to heal? Stopped the bleeding, super glued it, bandaid. I didn't try to reattach the skin. Maybe a milimeter thick deep.

Happened to me once as a kid. It will heal normally but the scar will be ugly like your finger had one eye. I used to play with my toys against my fingers and the one eyed one was the leader.

About a week.
You don't need to keep it bandaged all the time and if the bandage gets wet you'll want to either take it off or change it.
It's hardly an issue this time of year, but you'll want to avoid getting cold hands too. It inhibits circulation.

Just put some superglue (loctite) on it.
Instant cure.

I sliced off part of a fingertip a few weeks ago. Didn't use glue, just gauze and bandaids. Took about a week to heal to a point where I could properly use that finger again.

not too long, but, Hey OP, get better knife/mandolin skills bruh, we all care about you, you should care more about yourself.

They use superglue in the military for wounds It works to seal wounds quite well. It's not a hobo cure. Slice off wounds, it doesn't work for. That's disinfectant/saline and sulfate mesh and generic bandage. the mesh keeps it wet so it doesn't freeze to the bandage.

In the ER, they use super glue then charge you out the ass for it so you may as well do it yourself.

>> No.12860356

>>12859356
You have to remember to keep a stash of fresh, unopened tubes of superglue for first aid though. Opened tubes just don't keep very well. Once the seal is broken air gets in and starts to cure the entire tube. I believe that the medical grade stuff is essentially the same shit, but they store it in the refrigerator to prolong shelf life.

>>12859779
This is the idiot tax for going to an ER for a non-emergency minor wound.

I took a chunk out of my knuckle with a mandoline at work just last week and it's already healed.
The motherfucker cut a piece of my pinkie off through a glove and the glove didn't rip or tear at all. It hurt but I didn't realize the extent of the damage until I finished prep and took my glove off and it was filled with blood.

Happened to me once when I was in my teens. I thought it would heal easily. Didn't work! Had to go to the hospital 2 days later to have it disinfected and had to wear a bandage for two weeks. The nerves in the tip of the finger pretty much have been mostly dead since then.
