A guy at work quit and apparently thought I would be the most appropriate recipient of a 500g bag of flax seeds he had in his office (we have a kitchen at work).

What can I do with it?

I'm asking here because I want real information and not a series of short novels written by pussy vegan food bloggers

It needs to be ground up, otherwise it's decorative insoluble indigestible fiber to sprinkle on the top of bread.

You sijmply can not get to the nutrition inside of this hard shell that was designed by nature to be consumed by birds and animals and fermented in the gut or otherwise unchanged and passed out the butt in feces ready to grow in a new location germinating in the droppings. Nature. So, throw it out, buy it ground, or else grind it if you want any of the purported health benefits.

>insoluble indigestible fiber

Isn't a tautologic statement? Fiber is indigestible by definition and there is nothing wrong with insoluble fiber either for health benefits.
