In college we had a distillation apparatus for making moonshine. Instead of fermenting our own mash, it was preferable to salvage collect half full baskwash beers and other drinks as the party ends at like 4 AM. It all gets thrown into the pot and distilled, nobody really had a problem with it.
I also pick bones from the garbage at chicken restaurants for making stock. Same concept, its getting boiled so its harmless.

Me and my friends used to do this in college. Except more gross. We'd go into the pisser and find the half finished beers left on the sink and over the toilets and chug them. Very economical
