What the fuck am i not supposed to eat???
I'm tired of reading shit and having a shit ton of stuff thrown at me, what do you psoriasis bros cope with?

I've stopped drinking milk(my favorite drink) cause liquid dairy is supposed to be the worst. What else do i have to give up?

Hey bro. Please consider drinking raw milk; I also have had psoriasis, and cutting down on grains helped me a lot. I also can’t tolerate pasteurized milk too well, but raw milk gives me no side effects. Bonus: it also tastes absolutely creamy and amazing. If you don’t know where to get it, try a health food store, lucky’s usually has it. If you go to your local farmer’s market they usually have it for sale from local cows. Try it out, it’s kind of expensive but we’ll worth it in my experience!

I have psoriasis too. Dairy doesn't affect it at all, I eat a lot of cheese and drink milk and don't have any issue after that.

For me, cutting out sugar, caffeine, and nightshades helps. My skin will be pretty clear as long as I avoid those things. Have to even avoid stuff like carrots and sweet potatoes though, but starchy food like grains or lentils is fine.

Exercise more, lose weight, drink more water. Steroid creams are good for dealing with small patches and UVB light therapy really works well.

Also daily showers clears away the flakey skin and then use lots of moisturizer which helps calm the skin down. Dunno what it's called in USA but I find this is the best thing available in EU.

I don't think you have to fuck with your diet that much, maybe just less sugar? I don't do anything with my diet, although my psoriasis isn't that bad, I go years without a proper breakout.

I am obviously NOT a doctor, and this is anecdotal...

But talk to anyone who grew up next to the ocean. Swimming in true salt water is a known cure-all for almost any skin condition, as well as infections and all kinds of other stuff. Ocean water is full of zinc, magnesium, sodium...and even just being out in the sun helps.

I had really bad Psoriasis on my scalp, in my ears, around my nose eyes and face and I even got some on my ball sack.

But I killed it all with baking soda.

Its really simple, the skin condition is caused by a fungus and baking soda is a very good antifunal. It works because its alkaline and fungus die off because of the change in PH.

It wont harm normal skin but infected skin with Psoriasis is killed by baking soda. You need the baking soda to be in direct contact for like a day or two before you see results.

Well coconut oil has salicylic acid in it and coconut oil helps a bit. I use coconut oil sometimes to help hold the baking soda to my skin tho. Because its a powder it likes to just fall off. I usually rub it with oil and then put baking soda on and it does not fall off as easy.

Usually I put a bit more on 1 time during the day to make sure its covered. After a day or so you will see the skin peel where it was bad. I had bit red patches all over my head and I had to use the baking soda to remove them all.

>> No.12749301

I used to pick at big flaky chunks of skin on my head. But the baking soda is the only thing that permanently cleared it up.

I tried other stuff but it always healed and then came back. The baking soda actually kills off the bad skin not just trying to heal it.

>Usually I put a bit more on 1 time during the day to make sure its covered. After a day or so you will see the skin peel where it was bad
Basically what you're doing is giving yourself chemical burns very slowly.

>>12749301
>The baking soda actually kills off the bad skin not just trying to heal it.
Killing off the bad skin is the right idea, but your method is unnecessarily crude and harsh. Salicylic acid is a good chemical exfoliant, and you can also mechanically exfoliate by wetting some gauze and debriding the skin.

I had psiorasis when I was a kid. Doctor gave me some creams to put on myself and told me it was because of extreme stress. Nothing to do with my diet or weight. At the time my parents business went under and they also lost their house so yeah it was pretty stressful ending up living in a car as a 10yo.

Yea its like a Chemical warfare against the Psoriasis, I do agree with that statement.

It is very hard and crude, but hey it worked for me. At times it can even be painful if you are putting the baking soda on an open kind of sore. But it works so that is all I cared about.

diet literally never work for that shit, you need to find a brand of emolient cream that doesn't burn and apply every day, on the dry parts and small patches first, then go through the biggest spots as they regress. results are there nearly immediately but it takes a good year for the skin to "build up" enough health to not require daily cream anymore. gotta reduce slowly after that. twice day, then once a day, then once every 2 days, etc, then keep a tube around and cream back every month when a spot seems to come back.

>> No.12749380

>>12749353
Dude, just physically scraping off the damaged skin with gauze would work too, and do a lot less damage. If you haven't even tried that plus maximum strength OTC coal tar and salacylic acid (leave this on too, but not for a whole day, only like 15 minutes or so), then you're nuts to try covering yourself in powder all day.

>>12749371
Emollients are great to use, but they should be used everyday and not as treatment a breakout. Emollients alone are only enough if you have a mild case. Coal tar and salacylic acid is fucking magical.

In Chinese medicine you have a hot condition within
Try eating mostly cool and cold foods instead of customary hot and warm foods
Avoid meats and cheeses along with hot weather fruits including bananas pineapples mangos unless you live in a tropical zone yourself
Cool foods are something like Irish moss or seaweed and stuff like cucumber
The best thing to eat is that which you hate most
Expect to make this habit last several years at a time another thing to be sure of is that hot weather makes this condition worse or helps it blow up

Autoimmune Paleo diet.

I have RA and as soon as I went on that my inflammatory markers returned to normal and I was able to get off some of my meds.

There's a pretty strict 30 day elimination phase of the diet but then once a week you add a food back into the diet to see what triggers your symptoms. For me nightshades and other foods high in lectins fuck me up. Beans, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potatoes are a big no-no for me.

Sometimes diet will cause flare ups but a change in diet will not get rid of it. I know because I gave up all sugar and lost 50 pounds and did a bunch of healthy stuff and it made no change at all.

Same for me. I thought it was just nightshades but noticed recently beans seem to cause it too.

I don't think you have to go full paleo though, I have no problems with dairy or bread. Autoimmune paleo diet also says sweet potatoes, honey/maple syrup, and green tea are okay which actually make my skin worse too.

It's probably not the same for everyone. I tried all that shit, baking soda, vinegar, tea tree oil, even tried diluted bleach baths because my skin was really bad at one point. But it pretty much goes away as long as I avoid nightshades/sugar/caffeine and don't get too stressed out.

been suffering from psoriasis for over a decade. What you eat has nothing to do with it, the worst offender is stress, when I am through stressful periods i start to look like a ghoul and my skin is all over the place everywhere. I am sorry to break the news to you anon but you have to control your stress if you want to control psoriasis successfully, I too, wish it was as easy as just cutting some food of my diet. Also you need topical cream which you apply regularly, I use something based on betamethason (prescription only). I have it on my face and scalp (worst places), so I truly know your pain. Good luck.

this is wrong on so many levels. Psoriasis is a genetic disorder, not a fungal infection, baking soda will not work on it. What you have is fungus and not psoriasis that is why baking soda worked.

>>12748193
OP, please seek a doctor, psoriasis is no laughing matter. If you are really diagnosed with it then you should also do a check up for psoriatic arthritis as well because your odds of having it increase if you have psoriasis on your skin, even of the problem is not severe.
