That isn't anything remotely close to how Southerners BBQ, and I've been smoking and Q'ing in the Deep South fornsome 35 years of my life. For starters my mom never did anything except eat lol; and we usually hunted the boar and/or butchered the steer ourself. We never drank while smoking or grilling, at least on our property. Only drank while we ate. If you weren't helping smoke/grill you could drink though and play lawn games or swim in the pool. All sauces from scratch- most were family recipes though if a family member was inspired it wasn't out of the question to whip something up on the spot. Was an all-day affair, sometimes two whole days of roasting an entire hog, and the entire street was usually invited, which on my street was about 8 houses. Sometimes we'd have smaller cook outs and only invite a select few of our older neighbors but we cherished promoting social conviviality where I lived by means of food and fun.

7- The mother ties a bandana and organizes the eager wives and gives them the task of burning the heads and the four limbs of the lambs
8- The mother takes the task of clearing the guts and washing the liver and gathering the fat
9- The aunt is up in the kitchen baking bread and making salad and preparing sauces and plates
10- The men take the meat upstairs to the storage room.
11- The mother organizes the wives into making sticksof liver cubes wrapped in fat
12- The elder son is firing up the bbq
13- The kids are playing in the garden
14- The mother hands a big plate with a mountain of full bbq sticks to the elder son and he starts putting them to the fire
15- All of the participants get told what to do and how to do it by the mother
16- The wives prepare the table out in the upper garden under the vine.
17- Everybody gathers up, the kids have their own table, the mother is the last one to sit.

Other people, call a specialized dude to slaughter for them, the professional does it in few minutes while we do it in two hours.
