Which gin is the best bang for the buck, if I'm going to drink it on the rocks?

the best gin bang for buck is buying some cheap vodka and soaking some juniper berries in it.

James Bond drank pink gin

"In The Man With The Golden Gun, when James Bond is introduced to the hoods at the Thunderbird Hotel, drinks are being served."

"The red-coated barman asked him what he would have and he said, ‘Some pink gin. Plenty of bitters. Beefeater’s.’ There was desultory talk about the relative merits of gins. Everyone else seemed to be drinking champagne except Mr Hendriks, who stood away from the group and nursed a Schweppes Bitter Lemon."

it's so cheap, it is a joke. it has a lot of crisp and sharpness though. but it's best bang for bucks hands down. (having like 2.5k of gin, rum and vodka standing in around)

NewAm vodka is going to be the best bang for your buck. They also make a gin which is very bad even in cocktails. Beefeater and Gordon's are only a couple bucks more and well worth it.

>>12706536
Yeah honestly new Amsterdam gin is so incredibly shitty that it actually put me off gin for almost a year. Only recently I purchased a bottle of Ungava gin while visiting Ottawa Ontario, and looking for something unique to bring home.

Shit was fucking awesome, when drinking straight you can taste so many flavors and spices, it's great. The scent is still off putting thanks to NewAm though.

Best bang for your buck straight up on the rocks? Tough question, especially considering the gamut of gin cocktails set in stone, yet it's like drinking cheap vodka or wine in the sense that you'll get sussed, but you won't enjoy it till your tipping your elbow for the dregs and incapacitated to the point of being unable to replenish the wineskin. Avoid sipping Gordon's, Tanqueray, and Bombay, or whatever else finds itself in that price range, unless it has a promo flavour, such as Bombay's citrus varieties, and you can't afford fresh ingredients to use for cocktails down the road. At a certain point, most gins above the lowest price range and the second lowest price range are beyond delightful. Had a gin infused with violets a few weeks prior and it had the most poetic shade of purplish blue once diluted with tonic water. I have been enjoying Beefeater's as of late, but only with tonic or as the base of another cocktail, never by itself, yet Hendrick's is my newfound staple, a remarkably distinct gin that substitutes Plymouth well in artisanal recipes. Can't go wrong with a Gin and It!

Tanqueray's Rangpur is literally fantastic. It was my go-to gin before I discovered my picrel.
>Hendrick's is my newfound staple
Have you tried the seasonal limited Hendrick's? They have two:
>Orbium
blue lotus, wormwood, and quinine - spicy, earthy, and musky
>Midsummer Solstice
floral and effervescent in flavor
Both are fantastic either sipped on the rocks or in cocktails.

>>12700603
For me, it's pic related.
Fantastically smooth and sippable, floral, tiny hint of smooth citrus like bergamot. Nothing beats it especially at its pricepoint. I buy it a case at a time from the local fine wine & spirits shop.
