the fact that you don't see LA as a insane megaplex and a monument to the sins of man truly astounds me. At least places like New York have history and attractive places, or places like Chicago as well. LA and Houston both are basically bloated strip malls and miles and miles of concrete and congested intersections. I have seriously no idea how anyone can defend living there besides being trapped by generational poverty or suckered in by a well paying job.

Wurstkuche is shit. $12 for a bratwurst that is at best as good as a grocerystore Johnsonville. They do (or did, at any rate) have a good and reasonably priced beer selection. But regardless, fuck that hipster shithole. If I'm going to dodge needles around that area of LA, I'd rather just go all out and go to Escondite for one of their low-class but still tasty burgers.

Here's a few I really like off the top of my head from the LA area

-Agra Tandoori, Tarzana; Indian
-Viking Pizza, Swedish style Pizza; Glendale
-Howlin ray's; Chinatown (opening one in pasadena as well); nashville hot chicken (fair warning, prepare for a 2 hour wait in line during busy hours)
-Mario's Italian Deli, Glendale; Italian (primarily subs)
-Hae Jong Chong, Koreatown; KBBQ (fair warning, 2 hour wait during busy hours)

if I remember more, I'll come back ITT

Went there back in April for a couple of days (am from Germany).

Went to Langers Delicatessen, wasn't disappointed at all, had the pastrami with liverwurst, can definitely compare to places in nyc.

also went to a little thai place called Ruen Pair on Sunset... 5/5 would visit again.

There are just so many places in LA though, its a massive place, biggest I've ever seen im terms of sheer size (traffic is a nightmare though).

I've lived in So Cal my whole life. LA proper has a lot of good, pricey stuff. Santa Ana has the best Vietnamese food in the US (Pho especially is super competitive so a good, giant bowl is like 8 bucks). Most taquerias are good, I like king taco as a chain. Never pay more that 10 bucks a meal for Mexican. Everyone shit talking LA is a stinky flyover mongrel who have never moved passed their 3 dollar garbage plates. On that note, California wine is shit but no one here will admit it.
