A bic lighter is best for this and since I'm ambidextrous it doesn't matter to me but I'll try to explain.
Pick the hand that you're most used to and hold the lighter upside down so you're using the bottom of the lighter as the force, then the beer bottle in the other hand and shove the lighther down a bit under the bottle top while balancing on the thumb of the hand holding the bottle and using that thumb as a fulcrum to just pop the top off. It takes a few times to get it right but like riding a bicycle once you get it you'll never forget and it's a useful life skill.
