But they're honestly not the best way to prepare them.

That "crusty shit" represents significantly more flavour than you get by simply boiling them. The added garlic is not because you have to disguise them (nor to be honest is it in copious quantity), but because it's "seasoning". I might as well accuse you of hiding your potatoes under "leafy green shit" because bla bla horrible potatoes.

And since in britain you can buy potatoes from basically any country you like, the "poor quality potatoes" meme is pretty shitty. I've even had them fresh from the garden, eaten mere hours after they were picked. They can be perfectly edible. They are not, however, the height of cuisine.

Simple food can be good food : however some basic level of preperation is still desired. Why not just serve raw plain apple for desert? After all, you wouldn't want to be a pretentious cuck cook, would you? Who needs a tarte tatin or an apple pie, when you could just have a plain raw apple.
