The cost of food in "flyover" states is stupidly low compared to the coastal areas. A 18oz steak, 3 sides 8oz min, salad, and drink can be had in many places in Oklahoma or kansas for like under 20 bucks.

Last time I was in Amarillo I ate at the big texan meme place and got a huge amount of food and don't think I had to pay over 20 dollars pre-tip. If I tried for the same amount of food in LA or NY I'd be breaking a 50 easily

I lived there for a while and while I can confirm the cheap part, I think your frame of reference is screwed up if you think it's AMAZING. Yes you can get some nice peaches and other summer fruits and vegetables if you drive around the countryside and look during the right time of year, but the restaurants are all ass and the locals eat like shit

Crockpot dinners and meals or tray dishes like lasanga, enchilladas, chili dishes, or pot roasts easily outweigh what the shit most frozen dinner shits that go on. Family cooking is a big thing out there, I lived with a flyover family from texas virtually every meal was something like that for dinner and everyone ate big and got big.
