The maillard reaction that causes foods to brown creates carcinogenic acylomides.
Meat and alcohol are probably a greater risk, but fuck it.
I'm much more concerned about the environmental impact of meat/fish than getting bowel cancer in 20 years..

congrats, you probably consumed a pretty big dose of "organic" pesticides. Which are pretty much all pretty carcinogenic, if not directly toxic.
And because they are so much less effective than synthetic pesticides, the doses are much higher.

Supposedly the "studies" prove that eating red meat increases your chances of cancer or heart disease by .07% What they don't tell you is that the so-called increased risk is so miniscule that scientifically it is meaningless, not even worth reporting, especially so when other factors (like the meat eaters also smoked more, while most vegetarians don't smoke) are involved.

just blowing numbers completely out of my ass but you say have a 20% chance of dying of cancer on average. with that .07 increase means you only have an effective 0.14% chance of dying(pretending the million of externalities like you said don't exist).

Now let's say the average cancer victim dies 15 years early. That coupled with a .014% chance means it shaves an average of like 18 HOURS off your life expectancy.

If that's legitimately the case with all the possible externalities running through my head there's no way meat doesn't actually reduce the risk, nevermind the ridiculous notion that it increases it
