I'm not a big drinker but once in a while I want to just get a six pack, but because of these gay laws I can't buy some fucking beer ? What's the point of us not being allowed to buy alcohol from a 24/7 gas station past 10pm? For me it was a mix of flunking out of college, the stress of my shitty $7.25/hr job where I was treated like garbage by every other customer that came in the store, my parents’ divorce, and on top of that my best friend committed suicide. This happened within a span of about 5-6 months. Alcohol was the only thing that made me feel good at the time. After all of that I drank and drank and drank until I was obese, unable to pay bills or for actual food because all my money went to alcohol, and I had burned every other friendship I had. After one and a half years of hell at the age of 25 I finally got myself into AA and have been sober since July of last year. I’m now back in school and getting decent grades, for once. I think I have a future ahead of me.

I have a couple tallboys or a 40 once a week. Tonight was a Steel Reserve and a Miller Lite. At my lowest point I was drinking a fifth of liquor every weekend but I cut that shit out after it put me in the mental hospital with depression.

I'm 30 now, moved from the US to Canada, somehow got a fairly high paying job (80k salary canada bux) as a programmer from self teaching, got married, own a small condo.

I leave my alcoholism for Friday night and I'm shitfaced now because alcohol is still my friend and I couldn't abandon my friend.

So far I downed a bottle of sake, some beers, and started on a bottle of gin. It feels good to let loose.

You must embrace that drive because it will make you as productive as you are currently degenerate if you use it to achieve good goals.
Start by making lists of things to do. Work out, clean room, clean car, go for walk, etc. Its hard to run out of things that you should be doing, and after a single day of this you will see huge benefits. Keep it up for a week and people will notice. Months and you will be happy. Years and you will have everything.

Friday and Saturday night keggers were a big thing in my flyover area where word would pass around about the location, usually some remote area where everyone would gather and get blasted then drive home. More dangerous than having it legal at 16 since kids would have to drive drunk. Yours is a much more practical and sensible solution.
