If you haven't noticed we have a massive goddamned landmass so putting up some sort of federal minimum wage is goddamned retarded and fucks over any rural area, smaller state, etc. Economies are local because states are the size of your countries, and economies are complex. State minimum wages keep rising and unions take care of a lot of people, but when they say unemployment is at a low, that's kind of a lie, people are employed just past part time or working several part times, in low pay jobs.
