Women's weights are more prone to fluctuation due to hormonal changes, week to week measurements are pretty useless. You can take the average of a month, but acting like you're fat and defeated because you're retaining water isn't going to help with weight loss. Regardless, the men's side is obviously exaggerated, also important to weigh yourself in the morning after using the restroom to get more consistent measurements.

That is an unhealthy amount of calories consumed and can actually lead to paradoxical weight gain. The point of my post was to state that men have a much easier time losing weight because their weight is already much higher than women and therefore cutting calories is much easier and safer. "Weight" does not mean "fat".

If you cut calories in a sedentary lifestyle with high glycemic load, yes, you will lose weight... weight that's mostly lost muscle and bone tissue (unless you're obese). You will look even dumpier than before.
TDEE is a nonsense way to diet unless you're obese. Not obese? Then count glycemic load instead of counting calories.

>That is an unhealthy amount of calories consumed
"Unhealthy" is entirely dependent on the person's calorie expenditure.

A 5'2, 100 pound woman who is barely active may only need 1400 calories to maintain her weight.

A 6', 165 pound man who is highly active (aka me) might need more than 3,000 or 4,000 calories per day.

>and can actually lead to paradoxical weight gain
Weight is stored energy, and no matter how many times people tell you otherwise, humans cannot break the first law of thermodynamics.

>The point of my post was to state that men have a much easier time losing weight because their weight is already much higher than women and therefore cutting calories is much easier and safer.
If men do have an easier time losing weight, it's because they have much higher muscle mass on average (which consumes calories 24/7), not because they're heavier or any of that calorie stuff.

>Also people grossly underestimate the amount of calories that go into the food they consume.
This, however, is 100% true. People have no idea how much god damn energy is in that gigantic soda they just got from Wendy's, and almost all of that energy will turn into fat that will end up in some unsightly place on your body.

When I dieted, I found weighing myself once per month to be best. It's really good for your mental health because you always see progress with big jumps, and it doesn't suffer from slight changes in the humidity or whether or not you took a piss in the last hour.

When you weigh yourself every day and the numbers don't move, it increases your chances to fail at your diet or lifestyle change because you get depressed about results not showing up immediately.
