Blue is shit. I prefer platinum for their body. That being said, I prefer my Laphroaig Lore over Johnnie Blue. I'm more of a cognac drinker than whiskey so make of that what you will.

I got my first scotch last night. Glenlivet Founder's Reserve. I'm sure it's far from the best, but I liked it and will enjoy sipping it over the next couple weeks. Next time I want to see if my local store's very limited selection includes any with some smoke, I've not had any whisky where those notes are prominent but as a big fan of Lapsang Souchong I expect to like it.

I haven't been drinking scotch for too long but everything I've tried from Glenlivet just tastes so damn...boring? Even had the 18 and I forget what it even tasted like 10 seconds after the finish. I get that it's all subjective but just like Macallan, I have no idea why they're both so popular compared to similar brands
