Paris isn't as dangerous as US cities but that doesn't mean it's not a shithole. Compare Paris to places like Hong Kong or Tokyo. My city (another European one) had its lowest homicide rates on record in the fucking 1920s, and that's with medical technology depressing murder rates over the past 90-100 years and turning them into attempted murder/manslaughter/aggravated assault etc.

All western urban centers are more violent than they were 50-60 years ago. No need to bicker among ourselves about it. Let's figure out solutions that aren't "people murder others in cold blood because the government isn't giving them enough free money".

On topic: Paris is overrated for food and overpriced. In general it's just not a very pleasant place these days. There's plenty of other, safer, cheaper places in Europe: Most of Northern Italy, Spain, Greece, Istanbul (if you consider it European) etc.
