Massive cultural changes in regards to food are nessecary. Meat consumption, especially in America, needs to be drastically cut back if we are to feed our growing population. However, if current trends towards population stability in certain Western nations continue we probably won't have quite as much people as 10 billion I believe. Also by 2050 we'll have several moon bases, commercial asteroid mining and space travel, and probably a small colony on Mars so living room and available resources will be increasing slowly but surely. Companies for the cheap jobs hire new people every day because they don't show up after they get paid. They spend all their cash in a couple days and then come back.
