Hey /ck/, I remember hearing some sort of secret passed around among people I've known that the secret to bakery stuff tasting so good is that they use double the amount of some ingredient(s). Don't know which they were, does anyone here?

lmao that's not how baking works at all. you can't just double a particular ingredient and expect the recipe to magically come out better or the same or at all. "baking is a science" is a meme, but not as far off as you might think

that being said, probably butter. the secret is always butter. it's why french recipes are so popular, but also why people from the southern US could roll around more easily than they walk
