They don't put any value into it which is why they do it. I used to drive drunk every night after the bars closed. Didn't really care because everyone else did it and I really didn't care about myself that much.
Wasn't until I got into a wreck one night and took out a phone pol that I sobered up to it. Realized that could have been a person and instead of 1 night in jail I could have been going to prison for a long time.
