For me it is the cheese and onion. But I ate all of it anyway, even the vegan roll.

It's nice to see that you've included a vegan friendly option. I love how /comfy/ /ck/ is becoming

I cook pisto / ratatouille with onion, bell peppers and zucchini (sometimes also eggplant).
Then I make pasties with either tuna and eggs or ham and cheese, and add this sauce also to it.
It's good.

It wasn't great to be honest. Didn't taste much of anything.

I think I'll skip it next time.

Anything other than a proper Cornish pasty is wrong.

It was pretty good. Greggs produce a consistent pasty you know.

Cornish pasty is alright in a pinch. Its basically potatos and meat in a meme shape. meh. Its too fussy for a pasty.

I'm sure there's no 100% definitive answer one way or the other, buy why do you guys think pasties, meat pies, etc are absent from the US food scene? Seems like something so basic/obvious that it feels almost odd that they're not commonplace here as well

Here are some I made a week ago. Had a hard time getting the shape right so they ended up looking more like a calzone.

English diaspora into America predates pies and pasties becoming big in England. After that it was mainly German and Scandinavians arriving in the states.
