I have been to a couple well know places in New York that were alright as well. They didn't give me the sense of being in landmark establishments because of being able to see the traffic from the dining room and knowing the towering buildings above and around me.

I'm from the south and I just feel more of a connection with those historical places than the ones in the bustling city. Even though the dining rooms were packed or the porches were hot, it was as if I'd been there in a passed life.

I guess you can consider it historic. Romano’s, It’s where the Stromboli was invented. Live right near it too, their Strombolis are good but sometimes dry, they give you a cup of their homemade sauce to dip.

Vienna and Paris was 100% on spot, England was a mixed bag because especially in the countryside (like in Canterbury) it depends a lot on the local patrons (eg the Cricketers was an old mans pub that had a no jeans no trainers police and while the place was awesome it was filled to the brim with English pensioners usually drunk by 12 o'clock in the afternoon. In Havana Floredita was a bland tourist trap with shitty daiquiri while bodeguita (another tourist trap) was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
