Make the white bread recipe that came with the machine until it’s palatable. Watch the machine work. Figure out whether or not you need to lightly grease the sides of the pan for ball formation, or if you need to help scrape early dough downward off the edges of the pan with a silicone spatula.

Regardless of /ck/ shit talking, the great thing about these is that once you get dialed in, you can get a bread started in about 2 min, which is ideal for the lazy man that still wants freshly-baked bread made with quality ingredients he chooses.

only use it to knead dough. After it finishes kneading, shape the dough and put it in a oiled breadpan sprinkled with cornmeal. then let it rise in a tupperware container, you won't need to double proof the bread machine dough, which is great! I also suggest that you cover the bread in tinfoil. I don't bake loaves much anymore, only bagels.
And if the seal starts to leak, pre-mix the water for the recipe with some flour (from recipe) to make it into a wet dough, then pour it into the machine, then add the rest of the dough and let it knead.
My bread machine seal is completely gone because I ripped it out because pieces of it will coming off and getting into the dough, yet it still kneads bread fine because I never put water in it anymore. Dry dough stuck in the hole acts like a seal of sorts.

There is a button on that site to convert recipes to weight. Using a scale will help with consistent results.

Bread machines create loaves with really thick bottom crusts. If you don't like that, you can use the machine to mix and bake bread in an oven.
