bonus points if they aren’t standard off the shelf versions.

For me it’s my own twist on the classic White Russian. Perfect as an after dinner cocktail, most people are familiar with the White Russian, sometimes called a Caucasian, from the movie The Big Lebowski. It exudes relaxation and packs a hell of a punch while being an incredibly smooth drink. I’ve always felt it to be a bit one dimensional in its flavor profile though with almost all it’s flavor coming from Kahlua. I went ahead and fixed that by making the flavor profile a bit more complex by adding vanilla, caramel and mint to compliment and enhance the coffee flavored Kahlua.

1oz Caramel Smirnoff Vodka
1oz Vanilla Absolute Vodka
1oz Kahlua
1/2oz White Crème de Menthe
3oz Heavy Cream

Congrats, you now have a White Russian the Dude would die for.

For me, it’s an Old Fashioned. The patrician choice. Pic related.

When it’s hot outside I normally prefer a mojito in addition to ice cold beer or rosé wine.

Sazeracs are also great if they're made right.

If it's cold out I'm a sucker for a good gin and tonic. So many interesting well-made gins out there now too. Another good one is a classic margarita made with mezcal rather than tequila. A lot more complex, aromatic and smoky than a regular margarita but still bright and citrusy enough to be great in hot weather.

I don't think I'm a manly man or anything, I just don't think cocktails taste good. Maybe I'm just mixing them wrong or something, but the only one I really have liked was a martini. I tried a mojito, and it just seemed to be extra bitter, and no better tasting. Dark and stormy was the same thing. Pink gin was just disgusting. Old fashioned didn't really taste any different from regular bourbon. Maybe my tastes are fucked up, none of them just seem to improve the taste of the straight liquor.

I have two basic mixes, one disgusting healthy drink, and one fancy drink:

Topical Blue Fuck You
>Do you like to get drunk on a budget? Are you a little bitch who hates alcohol? This shit right here will get you so sauced you need a fucking wheelchair to find the pisser.
Ice
1 part Gin
2 parts blue Hawaiian Punch
Serve with a bendy straw in a jug.

Canadian Vanillia Clusterfuck
>created in a lab by drunken morons, this shit right here has some sort of provocative allure designed to make bitches naked. Tastes just like vanilla Dr pepper, with a whole serving of remorse.
Diet Dr Pepper
40 Creek Whiskey
Leave both to chill in a snowbank, pour into a red Solo cup like a sloshy drunken mess.

ANGRY UNCLE IVAN
>Did you run out of mix? Are you some weird fucking health nut? Perfect, we getting you drunk AND your macros. Swap vodka with gin for a Angry Uncle Bertrand.
2 30g Scoops of Vanilla Protein Powder
1 10g scoop of Daily Cleanse Fiber
Frozen avocado, mango, mixed berries, just eyeball it
1 fresh banana
1 fresh lime
1 scoop watermelon BCAA powder
Dash of cayane pepper
4 fingers of Vodka
Fill an entire blender, blend until the consistency of cake batter is achieved, then drink it straight from the blender you goddamned animal.

Jeffery's Lament
>Named after the asshole who created it, this drink is pretty snazzy. Described as if a sugar coated tongue licked the inside of your mouth, then slapped you in the face.
1 ice cube
1 part bourbon
1 part tonic
Dash of bitters
Maple syrup
Cinnamon
Honey crisp Apple Slice
1 part Lemoncello
In a short glass, put maple syrup below the ice with a dash of cinnamon so it starts to freeze. Combine the bourbon and the Lemoncello in a shaker with more ice and the tonic water, mix as desired. Pour mixture over ice, add bitters on top, garnish with apple slice.

Not that guy, but as someone who likes my liquor both mixed and not depending on my mood, I've actually found rum is probably the only liquor that doesn't get improved with mixing. I know rum is the go to mixing spirit but everytime I mix rum I always find myself think either I've just ruined a nice rum, or I've just ruined a nice cola etc depending on whether I liked the rum to begin with or not. Having said that the only exception I've found to this was having rum in tea, both black or white works- but hot.

Btw am I speaking to a fellow aussie? Based on specifically listing the two available cubans from dans.
