I went to a pub restaurant in Cheshire and had the steak and ale pie with chips. I dunno what the heck they did but the gravy that came with it was easily the best gravy I've tasted and I've had a lot of it being a britpoor northerner. Of course being a /CK/ autist I didn't have the balls to ask them how they made it (doubt they'd tell me anyway) but I'd have paid good money for that recipe. Mind blowing just how good it was. Been 2 years now and i still haven't come close to finding something equal.
