Is this the Vice doc pushing cultural relativism using the chinaman dog eating festival as a hook?

I can't think of a single non emotional argument for why eating dog is worse than cow or chicken. It's easy to brush shit off as cultural relativism but rarely do I see people explain why their cultural norms are non arbitrary, after all 90% of us find our own cultural morality intuitive which is higher than you'd expect if there was a logical way to determine which set of ethics is superior.

Several reasons, really:
1)Generally speaking, carnivores taste bad.
2) Dogs require far more costly food than most domestic animals, this makes raising them for meat economically unattractive.
3) Dogs have more value alive as working animals than they do as food.

Though I do agree that there's no ethical difference between killing a dog for food vs. killing a cow or chicken for food.

depends on breed/quality/age.

Sometimes it a softer rabbit and sometimes its a stringier beef. The littler ones are often stringy, the good and buttery stuff comes from the more built breeds such as Dane and St Benard.

Or so I've heard.

Horse is amazingly tender. It doesn't go tough at all. You have no business comparing it with horse meat
