Two burgers at a fast food place with fries and drinks for a couple people used to be about $12.
I can still get a couple burgers with fries etc., a calamari appetizer, and a few beers at a local restaurant with someone, and the total will come to maybe $45 minus tip, for burgers that may be some of the best in my city, and there was a place in my city that was rated as one of the best burgers in the country.
Spending half as much for burgers that are likely nowhere near as good would just seem questionable.
I’ve spent a similar amount as OP for a couple meals at Chic-Fil-A, but I really like Chic-Fil-A.
